Effective Date: [March 31, 2026]
Last Updated: [March 31, 2026]
Pocket Planner ("Pocket Planner," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you use the Pocket Planner app, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
## 1. What Pocket Planner Does
Pocket Planner is a productivity and planning app. Users can create and manage personal planning data inside the app. Users may also choose to connect Google Calendar so Pocket Planner can read calendar events and sync them into the app for read-only display.
## 2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
### A. Information you provide directly
This may include:
- your account information, such as your email address or login details
- planning data you create in the app, such as tasks, notes, habits, goals, journal entries, routines, lists, and schedule information
- support messages or other communications you send to us
### B. Google Calendar data, if you choose to connect Google Calendar
If you connect Google Calendar, Pocket Planner requests read-only access to your Google Calendar data. We may access:
- calendar identifiers
- event titles
- event dates
- event start and end times
- related metadata needed to sync and display events in Pocket Planner
Pocket Planner uses Google Calendar access only to import your calendar events into Pocket Planner for read-only display within the app. Pocket Planner does not use this connection to create, edit, or delete Google Calendar events.
### C. Technical and usage information
We may collect limited technical information necessary to operate the Services, such as:
- device and browser information
- app version
- basic log or error information
- authentication and session information
## 3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain, and improve Pocket Planner
- authenticate users and secure accounts
- save and sync your app data
- display your planning content inside the app
- sync Google Calendar events into Pocket Planner when you choose to connect Google Calendar
- respond to support requests
- monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and protect the security of the Services
## 4. How Google Calendar Data Is Used
If you connect Google Calendar:
- Pocket Planner requests the `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly` scope
- Pocket Planner reads calendar event data from Google Calendar
- Pocket Planner syncs those events into Pocket Planner's internal event layer for display in features such as Daily Dashboard and Daily Planner
- synced Google Calendar events are treated as read-only inside Pocket Planner
Pocket Planner does not sell Google user data. Pocket Planner does not use Google Calendar data for advertising. Pocket Planner does not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide and secure the Services, comply with law, or protect rights and safety.
## 5. Storage and Retention
Pocket Planner stores app data and related service data using infrastructure providers that help us operate the Services, including backend hosting and database providers.
If you connect Google Calendar:
- a Google refresh token may be stored server-side so Pocket Planner can maintain the connection and perform future syncs
- synced calendar events may be stored in Pocket Planner's database so the app can render them from its internal data layer
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
If you disconnect Google Calendar, Pocket Planner will remove the stored Google Calendar connection data and synced Google Calendar events from the app's Google Calendar sync layer, subject to technical and backup limitations.
## 6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- with service providers and infrastructure vendors that help us operate the Services
- if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- to protect the rights, safety, security, or property of Pocket Planner, our users, or others
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business
## 7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
## 8. Your Choices
You may choose whether to connect Google Calendar.
If you have connected Google Calendar, you can disconnect it within Pocket Planner. You can also manage third-party app access in your Google account settings.
